Customer Pays Elderly Couple’s Bill, Then Waitress Hands Her A Secret Note About Their Family

February 6, 2017

Kristen Kinzle was eating at Mimi’s Cafe in Los Angeles when she spotted an elderly couple enjoying breakfast together. The couple looked like they were in puppy love, and Kinzle couldn’t help but notice.

However, their romantic time together was being ruined by a few loud customers at another table. That’s when Kinzle decided to brighten the couple’s day the way they had brightened hers with their display of love.

“You just see people sometimes that just look like a great couple, and they really loved each other,” Kinzle said.

Kinzle decided to pick up the tab for the pair and go on her way. Little did she know that her small, anonymous act left a big impact. After she paid, her server, Stephanie Miller, left her a note. Kinzle was in tears.

“I instantly started crying,” Kinzle said. “I just hope it made them for just a moment happy with that amount of sadness.”

It turned out that the husband had just lost his dear brother and was in mourning. On top of that, Miller herself was feeling down and out, as it was the one-year anniversary of a loved one’s death.

Kinzle’s small gesture brought some much needed kindness into all of their worlds.

“I knew that if I tried to tell her the story myself, I would probably start crying like a baby,” Miller said.

You never know what someone is going through, which is why a small gesture of kindness can restore someone else’s faith in humanity.
