Five simple pie recipes for a quiet evening

When we want to cook something yummy, we prefer to spend as little time as possible in the kitchen. LikeAble found five simple and quick pie recipes that will be great treats for your friends and family. We’re going to preheat our oven right now!

Cherry Pie

You will need:

2-3 cups of flour
7 oz (200 g) margarine
1/2 cup of sugar (add a bit more if you want to make it sweeter)
a pinch of salt
grated zest of 1 lemon
4 eggs
3.5 oz (100 g) starch
a few pinches of baking powder or baking soda
4 tablespoons of sour cream
18 oz (500 g) frozen pitted cherries

How to make it:

Cream the margarine with sugar, salt, lemon zest, and eggs. Add flour, starch, baking powder 1/2 cup at a time. Finally, add the sour cream.
Place parchment paper on the baking pan or grease it with the margarine. You can also sprinkle it with breadcrumbs – it’s a great way to prevent the pie from sticking to the bottom. Spread the dough evenly.
Place pie mix in the pan, and add the cherries on top.
Bake at 390°F (200°C) for about 50 minutes.
Stuffed Meat Pie

You will need:

For the dough:

7 oz (200 g) mayonnaise
9 oz (250 g) sour cream
3 eggs
4-5 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder (or 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda)
salt

For the filling:

10 – 14 oz (300 – 400 g) any meat (beef, pork, chicken or turkey)
3-4 medium potatoes
1 big onion
salt and pepper to taste

How to make it:

Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and eggs. Add the baking powder, flour, and salt. Knead the dough. Leave it aside for a while until all ingredients are bound.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the pie. Mince the raw meat, and chop the onion and potatoes. Mix it well, and then add salt and pepper.
Put half of the rolled dough on the bottom of the baking pan. Spread the meat filling on top, and cover it with the second half of the rolled dough.
Bake it in the oven for 60-70 minutes at 356°F (180°C). If the top of the pie starts burning, cover it with foil. If the bottom begins burning, put a fireproof container with water under the baking pan.
Healthy Curd Cake

You will need:

For the dough:

2 cups of flour
5 oz (150 g) margarine
1/3 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon of lemon or orange juice

For the filling:

9 oz (250 g) curd
1/3 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

How to make it:

Gradually sift the flour, sugar, and baking soda over margarine. Add the lemon juice, and knead the mixture. You should get dough similar to shortcrust pastry.
Spread the dough in the pan and lightly flatten it.
Beat the curd, eggs, sugar, and vanilla in the mixer. Evenly spread the filling on the dough.
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 356°F (180°C).

Quick Cheese Pie

You will need:

2 eggs
1 cup of plain liquid yogurt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
9 oz (250 g) any hard cheese
7 oz (200 g) sausages or ham
greens

How to make it:

Beat 2 eggs with salt.
Add the baking soda to the yogurt, stir it, and leave the mixture for a few minutes. Then, add it to the beaten eggs.
Add the flour and mix well.
Rub the cheese on a coarse grater and finely chop the greens. Slice the sausages or ham. Add all these ingredients to the dough, and mix well.
Grease the baking tray with butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs to prevent sticking. Spread the dough, and gently flatten it using a spoon.
Bake for 25 minutes at 390°F (200°C).

Banana Cake

You will need:

(100 g) margarine or butter
2 eggs
1,5 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
salt on the tip of a knife
2 bananas
5 oz (150 g) milk

How to make it:

Peel the bananas, and mash them with a fork.  Make sure the butter is room temp, and cream it with the sugar. Add the banana pulp into the butter, and stir the mixture until you have a uniform consistency.
Add the vanilla sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
Add the eggs one by one while beating the mixture with a whisk or mixer at its lowest speed. Lastly, add the flour and baking powder. Knead the dough.
Pour the dough into the greased baking dish. You can also use a split mould with parchment paper. Bake at 356-374°F (180-190°C) for 30-40 minutes.
