Here’s What Happens When an Ordinary Woman Stars in Top Fashion Brand Adverts

December 26, 2016

Most of us tend to think that it’s impossible to compete with supermodels. These goddesses seem to be the epitomes of perfection. Well, meet Nathalie Croquet — an apparently ordinary woman, not very young, and not the slenderest of her sex — who took the risk of recreating the photo shoots for top fashion brands’ famous adverts.

The results came as a surprise both to the unlikely model herself and to numerous people around the world, including the staff of LikeAble! Nathalie looks more than presentable in her role as a top model. True, she does look amusing in some photos, but this just goes to prove that she’s got a great sense of humor! Nathalie was assisted by fellow stylists, with a professional photographer doing the shoots and processing the pictures. This fascinating project serves to remind us that the striking images we see in ads are the results of diligent work by whole teams of professionals and that models don’t look as glamorous in everyday life.

This is how Nathalie looks without makeup:

Nathalie doesn’t buy outfits from advertised brands for her photo shoots — she finds secondhand clothes and complements them with various details and homemade alterations. She wants to show that you don’t have to chase after popular labels to look good.

For her project, Nathalie chose to recreate the most dazzling of advertising campaigns, not afraid to take on the roles of Kate Moss, Penelope Cruz, and Natalia Vodianova.

The most important thing about this project is that it reminds us that we are all individuals and that we are at our most beautiful and charming when we love, engage in creative activities, and enjoy life!
