Man Goes To Chick-Fil-A With $1,000, Pays For 88 People Behind Him In Line

February 5, 2017

No one could believe it. A man who chose to remain anonymous walked into a Texas Chick-fil-A in 2015 with 10 $100 bills. He handed the cash over to the cashier and told the worker to pay for everyone’s meals until the money ran out.

“I asked him, ‘Did you win the lottery today? Like, why are you doing this?’ He was like, ‘Mondays are tough and I want to make everyone have a good day, to help them have a good day,” said Chick-fil-A team leader, Duste Wolf.

While we’re used to seeing people pay it forward, $1,000 is a lot of money. As people came up to the drive-thru, they thought the free meal was a practical joke.

Chick-fil-A is known for its courtesy toward customers, but it’s another story when customers return the favor.

Eventually, the anonymous donor was able to pay for meals for 88 customers — all because it was Monday.

One woman was having such a miserable day, when she discovered her meal was free, she immediately began to cry right there at the drive-thru window.

The only thing anyone knows about the man is that his name was John. His selfless act shows that you never know what the people around you are going through. A small gesture of kindness can turn into something much bigger.
