Brenden McGee scored his very first after-school job at the age of 16. He had been working at Whitey’s Ice Cream in Moline, IL, when his life took an unexpected turn.
When a woman drove up to the drive-thru window, Brenden could immediately tell she was crying and upset. In fact, she could hardly speak.

Brenden’s manager, Rhonda, worried she wanted to lodge a complaint against the mild-mannered and kindhearted teen.
